Report Buddy exists because one officer got tired of the way things were — and decided to build something better.
After 10 years in law enforcement, I'd written thousands of reports. Domestic violence calls at 3 AM. Use-of-force incidents that needed every detail perfect. Felony arrests where probable cause had to be airtight. Every single one took too long to write and never felt good enough.
But the reports weren't the worst part. Court was. I'd spend weeks working a case, write a solid report, then walk into the courtroom completely unprepared. The prosecutor would meet me in the hallway five minutes before testimony. "Just tell them what happened." That was the extent of my prep.
Meanwhile, the defense attorney had been preparing for weeks. They knew my report better than I did. They'd pick apart my word choices, challenge my timeline, and try to make me look incompetent — all while I was supposed to stay calm and professional on the stand.
I built Report Buddy because this tool should have existed years ago. Officers deserve better than spending half their shift on paperwork. And they deserve to walk into court knowing exactly what's coming.
